Studio Brocky Launches First Furniture Collection at Battersea Power Station

Max Brockbank, a designer with experience working for prominent companies in New York and London, founded Studio Brocky in 2025 to develop his own creative vision. His inaugural collection of furniture and lighting debuted earlier this year at the historic Control Room within Battersea Power Station, a restored 1930s art deco space. The collection merges nostalgic and futuristic elements, drawing inspiration from Space Age design, 1970s British glam rock, and 1950s mod fashion. Brockbank cites his childhood exposure to science fiction films and a family background in metalworking as key influences. He emphasizes craftsmanship and collaboration with British artisans to create durable, heirloom-quality pieces, contrasting with contemporary disposable culture. The collection includes several items: the Vanguard lounge chair and sofa, inspired by 1960s electric guitars and featuring materials like wool, velvet, and mohair; the Axis coffee table with a sculpted cast aluminum or bronze base and glass top; the Capsule pedestal, a minimalist plinth; the Neutrino table lamp with a cast brass base and hand-blown glass shade; and the Revolver wall lamp, which references vinyl records with an alabaster diffuser. Each piece prioritizes materiality and traditional techniques, aiming to create objects that gain significance over time.
