Stream Family Fabergé Collection Leads Christie’s Luxury Week
Christie’s Luxury Week in New York features the Stream Family Collection, including five Fabergé jeweled floral sculptures made from nephrite, rock crystal, gold, enamel, and diamonds. One is a rare Fabergé cactus with gold needles. A silver rhinoceros automaton in working order is also included. The collection, assembled by Matilda Geddings Gray, contains boxes and clocks with guilloché enamel. Gray’s Fabergé eggs are at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Magnificent Jewels auction on June 9 includes pieces from Joanna Carson, Irene Roosevelt Aitken, and Lorinda Payson de Roulet, with David Webb and Cartier works. The Azure Blue, the largest fancy blue diamond ever auctioned, is a highlight. The jewelry series ends June 12.
