still (a little life) Exhibition Explores Suspension at PART International Art Residency Austria

The exhibition 'still (a little life)' opened at The Hall within PART International Art Residency Austria in Vienna on March 7, 2026, running through April 11. Curated by Barbara Horvath, the show features works by three artists: Neven Allgeier, Judith Eisler, and Pakui Hardware. Allgeier presents large-format photographic prints mounted on a freestanding aluminum grid structure, capturing faces and figures in transitional light. Eisler creates oil paintings based on film stills that preserve cinematic blur and grain. Pakui Hardware contributes 'The Host' (2021–2025), an installation featuring table-like forms with translucent drapes and mechanical arms holding amber-orange discs, evoking clinical suspension. The venue itself is a former 1873 World's Fair pavilion recently refurbished with pale wood-paneled skylights and floor-to-ceiling white linen curtains, creating diffuse, directionless light. The exhibition explores multiple meanings of the word 'still'—as silence, pause, persistence, film frame, and still life—examining how life matters precisely when it briefly stops. It contrasts two types of suspension: tender perceptual slowing and clinical systemic containment. The Hall's architecture naturally slows time, making it an integral part of the curatorial concept.
