Ste Marie Revives Mid-Century Corporate Glamour in Chicago's The Bell Tower

Ste Marie, a Canadian design firm, has crafted more than 100,000 square feet of amenity spaces within The Bell, a revamped office tower from the 1960s located at 225 West Randolph Street in Chicago's Loop. Originally constructed in 1966 as the headquarters for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company, this 32-storey structure underwent renovations by SCB and Onni Group. The design by Ste Marie emphasizes hospitality, featuring a continuous interior landscape that includes a 200-seat bistro and bar called Solette. The mid-century design showcases reflective metals, striking lighting, and large artworks. Amenities also feature library and game rooms, fitness studios, sports courts, and a multi-level Clubhouse, aiming to transform the corporate tower into a space defined by hospitality and identity.
