Splash 27 Watermedia Competition Winners Announced in Best of Watercolor 2026

The 2026 edition of The Best of Watercolor features 150 winners of the Splash 27 Watermedia Competition, selected by the editors of Artists Network. The publication highlights works that capture summer's radiant light and vibrant color. Among the featured artists are Sandy Delehanty, whose poured watercolor 'Baywatch' involves about 20 layers of transparent paint applied with a palette knife; Shelley Prior, whose 'Cozy Abundance' depicts a lakeside cottage still life with multiple glazes on damp paper; Evgenia Belyaeva-Cordie, whose 'Reviving' was painted wet-into-wet from a photo taken in Mallorca, Spain; Annemieke Smit, whose 'Beach Bubbles' experiments with foam using masking fluid and wooden sticks; and Anitha Balachandran, whose 'Preserving Summer' uses glazing to capture garden roses in a blue jar. The issue includes the Top 3 prizewinners and will be released on July 7, 2026, in print and digital formats.
