Soyoung Yoon to Lead Whitney Museum's Independent Study Program

Starting June 16, 2026, Soyoung Yoon will take the helm as director of the Independent Study Program at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Known for her strong background in contemporary art and media studies, she will lead the program which will introduce a new series of artists, curators, and academics in the fall of 2027. Previously, Yoon enhanced the Fine Arts MFA Program at Parsons School of Design, attracting a dedicated student body exceeding 200 individuals. Additionally, she served as an Associate Professor at Eugene Lang College, where she restructured the Visual Studies Program from 2013 to 2024.
