Sougwen Chung Presents Brainwave-Activated Artwork at Art Basel Hong Kong's Digital Sector

Artist Sougwen Chung is showcasing new works at Art Basel Hong Kong's Zero 10 sector, which focuses on digital art. Her main piece, Recursion 0, is a 10-meter scroll generated using brainwave data and will be finished during the fair. Chung discusses her exploration of human-machine creative partnerships, which began in 2015 through studies in neuroscience and human-computer interaction. Her D.O.U.G. series, exhibited globally including at London's Victoria and Albert Museum and Tokyo's National Art Center, examines themes like agency and temporality. Chung's work on this subject earned her a spot on Time's 2023 Time100 AI list.
