Sotheby's to auction Maurice Tempelsman collection in New York

Sotheby's will auction the collection of Maurice Tempelsman (1929–2025) in a single-owner sale titled 'A Marvelous Journey: The Collection of Maurice Tempelsman' on June 24 at Sotheby's New York. The sale includes fine art, gold boxes, objects of vertu, antiquities, and personal items assembled over his lifetime. Tempelsman was an Antwerp-born entrepreneur, philanthropist, civic leader, and collector who moved in international power circles, postcolonial Africa, and American cultural life. He chaired the Africa-America Institute, the Corporate Council on Africa, and the International Advisory Council of the Harvard AIDS Institute.
