Sotheby's Milan Auction Features Fontana, Morandi, Boetti Ahead of miart

On April 12, 2024, Sotheby's Italia will conduct its evening auction for Modern and Contemporary Art in Milan, coinciding with Milan Art Week and the miart fair. Among the featured pieces is Lucio Fontana's "Concetto Spaziale" (1964-65), with an estimated value of €1.2-1.8 million. Other notable works include Fontana's "Concetto Spaziale, Attese" (1968, est. €1-1.5 million), Giorgio Morandi's "Natura Morta" (1958, est. €800,000-1.2 million), along with contributions from Salvo, Alighiero Boetti, Carla Accardi, and Mario Schifano. More than a third of the lots will be auction debuts. Fontana's "Concetto spaziale, La fine di Dio" (yellow) will be displayed at Palazzo Serbelloni until April 11, before moving to Sotheby's New York auction on May 15, where it is estimated at $20-30 million.
