Sotheby's London Pre-Auction Exhibition Features Lewis Collection
Sotheby's has opened a public exhibition of its June Modern and Contemporary art sales in London, showcasing works from Impressionism to contemporary art. The exhibition runs from today until 23 June, ahead of auctions on 24 and 25 June. The centerpiece is The Lewis Collection, a group of 48 masterpieces that will be sold in a dedicated evening auction and as part of the Modern Day Auction. This collection is described as the most valuable ever staged in Europe. Additional highlights include works by Claude Monet, Peter Doig, Wassily Kandinsky, and Mark Rothko from other private collections. The combined estimate for all works exceeds £300 million, making it one of London's strongest auction seasons.
