Sophie Thatcher on Nicolas Winding Refn's 'Her Private Hell' and Life After 'Yellowjackets'

Actress Sophie Thatcher, 25, stars in Nicolas Winding Refn's first film in a decade, the experimental thriller 'Her Private Hell', which premiered out of competition at Cannes and releases in theaters July 26. The Chicago-born actor, who lives Upstate with her identical twin sister Ellie, is considering an onscreen hiatus after Showtime's 'Yellowjackets' ends its four-season run. Thatcher has also appeared in horror films 'Heretic', 'Companion', and 'The Boogeyman'. She performed live for the first time at Prada Mode installation at the Hotel Chelsea, hosted by Refn and Hideo Kojima. Thatcher, who left Mormonism at age 12 due to theater commitments, now focuses on music, having taught herself Ableton and synths. She plans to release random songs and start a band with her twin, who works in Claymation and puppetry. Thatcher describes 'Yellowjackets' as 'emotional Olympics' and expresses desire to move away from horror and television, preferring limited series in the future. She turns down many projects now, unlearning past habits.
