Sophie Bille Brahe Launches Debut High Jewellery Collection Tangerine Sky

Danish jewellery designer Sophie Bille Brahe has launched Tangerine Sky, her first high jewellery collection, exclusively at Harrods. The eight-piece collection of necklaces, rings, and earrings was inspired by a Cy Twombly exhibition at Gagosian in New York, where a pink splash-like canvas evoked a baked Alaska ring. Bille Brahe sketched the first three rings at 3am while jetlagged. The collection explores weightlessness, challenging the inherent heaviness of gold and diamonds, influenced by Roman marble sculptures that appear to soften and float. Diamonds in the collection weigh up to five carats. Bille Brahe trained for five years before earning a master's at the Royal College of Art in London. She emphasizes wearability, noting that heart-shaped diamonds become cool in her signature crescendo tennis collier. The designer views her pieces as temporary custodians, passing from hand to hand.
