Sociotype Foundry Releases Onsite Mono and SemiMono, Expanding Grotesque Family

publication · 2026-10-07

Sociotype Foundry has introduced two new additions to its grotesque typeface collection: Onsite Mono and SemiMono, crafted by Joe Leadbeater and developed by Barbara Bigosinska. These typefaces tackle the visual inconsistencies often found in fixed-width fonts and enhance the existing Onsite family, which already features Condensed, Standard, and Extended widths. Drawing inspiration from mid-century industrial structures, the design ensures balanced text presentation for both print and digital formats. Onsite Mono offers seven weights along with a Book cut, while Onsite SemiMono merges serifs and broad accents with proportional spacing. Each style includes 828 glyphs across 16 variations, providing significant OpenType functionality. Editorial samples demonstrate the fonts' versatility in diverse applications.
