Snøhetta Leads Design for Istanbul's Ion Riva Development with Circular 'The Ring' Structure

Architecture firm Snøhetta, in collaboration with MVRDV and Bjarke Ingels Group, is designing the Ion Riva residential district in Beykoz, Istanbul. The project includes approximately 1,000 homes, 100,000 square meters of biodiverse green space, a school, and commercial areas. A key feature is 'The Ring,' a circular building that appears to float over a river gorge, intended as a sanctuary for experiencing nature. The first residences are scheduled for completion in June 2027. The development emphasizes sustainable living, using local materials, renewable energy, and water conservation systems to minimize environmental impact.
