Sky Arte premieres docu-film on Goya by José Luis López-Linares

Following the success of his documentary on Bosch, director José Luis López-Linares returns with 'L'ombra di Goya', a new docu-film on the Spanish painter Francisco Goya (1746–1828). The film airs on Sky Arte on Thursday, July 16. Co-written by Jean-Claude Carrière and Cristina Otero Roth, it features twelve experts from various disciplines, including artist Julian Schnabel. The documentary eschews a chronological approach, instead making temporal leaps across Goya's works to highlight conflicts and contradictions of his era. López-Linares describes his method as that of a sensitive archaeologist, aiming to 'dig a hole in Goya's Black Paintings to see what was behind them'.
