Sirius Alexander Venus Rose presents 'COMING HOME' exhibition at Primo Piano in Montesilvano

exhibition · 2026-04-09

Conceptual performer Sirius Alexander Venus Rose debuted the exhibition 'COMING HOME' at Primo Piano in Montesilvano from March 18 to April 1, 2026. Curated by Martina Marini Misterioso, the show featured a return motif through installations and performances revisiting the artist's brief but significant career. The entrance area displayed 'It takes a village' (2024), an installation with hemp fibers and visitor-donated hair forming a cord suspended from ceiling to glass vase, referencing collective care. Adjacent, the 2023 installation 'God Where The Fuck Have U Been?' showed a printed image of Saint Gemma, protector of Goriano Sicoli, with a handwritten appeal questioning divine absence. An untitled 2026 work offered postcards for visitors to mail. The opening performance 'Mum Hug Me Again' on March 18 depicted the artist curled under maternal furs on a bridal bed, symbolizing regenerative return to childhood. At the April 1 finissage, Sirius Alexander resumed the 'It takes a village' action, extending the waiting cord. The artist, who chose the name inspired by the star Sirius and designer Lee Alexander McQueen, first exhibited in 2022 at Adiacenze in Bologna and has participated in events by Collettivo Transumanza. Previous performances include 'Carne Tremula' (2023) at Fondazione La Rocca in Pescara for CORPO.DOC XV and 'It takes a village' at the 52° Premio Sulmona 2025, both curated by Ivan D'Alberto.
