Silvia Righi's 'Ex voto suscepto' Explores Decay and Transfiguration in New Poetry Collection

Silvia Righi's latest poetry collection 'Ex voto suscepto' was published in 2025 by Pungitopo as part of the 'Remedia' series curated by Tommaso Di Dio. The book features thirty-three ink drawings by artist Mattia Barbieri, though only four appear in the final publication due to space constraints. Righi, born in Correggio in 1995 and based in Milan, explores themes of bodily decay, divine arrival, and gender fluidity through shifting narrative perspectives. The work originated from texts about the daughter of God's arrival on Earth, with Barbieri creating androgynous divine figures to complement the sacred themes. Righi's poetry appears in several anthologies including 'Chiamami col mio nome. Antologia poetica di donne vol.2' (2022) and 'Poesie dall'Italia contemporanea 1971-2023' (2023). She previously published 'Demi-monde' in 2020 with NEM, which won the Premio Pordenonelegge 'Poeti di vent'anni' and was a finalist for the 'Premio Mauro Maconi'.
