Sign language interpreter Aurélie Nahon translates concerts for deaf audiences

Aurélie Nahon, co-founder of the association 10 Doigts en cavale, works as a 'chansigneuse'—a sign language interpreter for songs. She will be performing throughout the summer to enable deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences to enjoy concerts, including those by Orelsan and Bertox at the Main Square Festival in Arras on Saturday, July 4. Nahon notes that a one-hour concert requires over two hundred hours of preparation to translate into sign language. Her work highlights the extensive effort behind accessibility in live music events.
