Sicko: A Book Celebrating Trevor Cunningham's Airline Sick Bag Collection

Writer and filmmaker Elizabeth McCafferty has published Sicko, a book documenting Trevor Cunningham's four-decade collection of airline sick bags. The collection began as a tribute to his boss Peter, who died from a brain aneurysm at age 32. McCafferty, who previously made a documentary about Cunningham's support group Ask Trev, discovered his unique archive during their interactions. The book is hand-typed on a 1970s typewriter and includes handwritten diary entries, vintage paper plane templates, old photographs, and Kodak slides. The sick bags chart analogue design choices from airlines worldwide, including a 1980s Qantas bag made in partnership with Kodak and one advertising Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
