Shirley Jaffe Paper Works Exhibition Opens in Brussels with Parallel Paris Painting Show

Galerie Nathalie Obadia is hosting a Brussels exhibition featuring approximately thirty paper works by American artist Shirley Jaffe, created from 1955 to 2012. This display holds special significance a decade after Jaffe's death and following the recent loss of her brother Jerome Sternstein, who actively promoted her career. A complementary exhibition of Jaffe's paintings runs at the Paris location from January 30 to April 25, 2026. These presentations contribute to increasing institutional acknowledgment of Jaffe's work, building on momentum from a traveling retrospective that appeared at Centre Pompidou, Kunstmuseum Basel, and Musée Matisse between 2022 and 2024. Several prominent institutions have recently acquired her pieces.
