Shepard Fairey Creates Limited Edition Archibald Chair for Poltrona Frau

exhibition · 2026-03-19

Poltrona Frau has partnered with street artist Shepard Fairey to produce a special version of the Archibald armchair. This limited edition piece, titled 'Delicate Balance,' will debut at Milan Design Week in April 2026. The collaboration merges Fairey's urban art aesthetic with the Italian brand's craftsmanship traditions. Fairey's design features a central female figure representing nature, surrounded by birds and floral elements, drawing from his previous works like 'Make Art Not War' and 'Rise Above Flower.' The chair will be produced in 200 numbered units using Poltrona Frau's Pelle Frau® leather, which undergoes an environmentally conscious tanning process that reduces chemical and water usage. Each purchase supports a reforestation initiative in Guatemala through Treedom, with two coffee trees planted per chair sold. Poltrona Frau CEO Nicola Coropulis noted that Fairey's interpretation aligns with the company's 2026 theme 'True Over Time,' emphasizing enduring relevance. This project continues Poltrona Frau's series of artistic collaborations with figures such as Felipe Pantone and Ozwald Boateng.
