Shenzhen Art and Technology Biennale Inaugural Edition Opens at SIMoA

exhibition · 2026-06-21

The Shenzhen International Museum of Art (SIMoA) launched its first Art and Technology Biennale, titled A Glimpse of the Infinite, on May 30, 2026, with the event scheduled to continue until April 30, 2027. Under the direction of Zikang Zhang and the curation of Naiyi Wang and Mónica Bello, the biennale showcases more than fifty artists, scientists, and researchers from around the globe. This exhibition delves into the quantum nature of perception, suggesting that observation acts as an intervention, narrowing possibilities into a singular moment. It draws from quantum mechanics, indicating that visible reality is merely a small part of existence, while certainty emerges from the accidental convergence of probabilities when observed. Rather than providing solutions, the works challenge viewers to examine the boundaries of perception.
