Sharon Osbourne Marks Ozzy's First Death Anniversary with Call to 'Play Music Loud'

On the first anniversary of Ozzy Osbourne's death, his widow Sharon Osbourne urged fans to remember the heavy metal icon by playing his music "really loud." In an emotional interview with BBC Radio WM from Birmingham, she recalled his humor, charisma, and authenticity. Birmingham held its first Ozzy Day on Wednesday, a free celebration honoring the Black Sabbath frontman who was born in the Aston area. Ozzy died on July 22, 2025, at age 76, less than three weeks after the band's farewell concert at Villa Park. He had Parkinson's disease, diagnosed in 2019. The farewell gig raised funds for Cure Parkinson's, Acorns Children's Hospice, and Birmingham Children's Hospital. Sharon pledged to continue supporting these charities until a cure for Parkinson's is found. She described the farewell concert featuring Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and Slayer as "beautiful" and a memory her family will cherish. Ozzy Day is expected to become an annual legacy event in Birmingham, which she called "the home of metal."
