Sharon Butler's June 2026 Calendar: Book Launch, Exhibitions, and Jurying

Sharon Butler outlines a busy June 2026, starting with a book launch and panel discussion for the Cora Cohen monograph at Bowery Poetry Club on June 2, featuring Rebecca Ness, Barbara MacAdam, and Raphael Rubinstein as moderator. On June 11, Butler's paintings are included in "Twenty by Sixteen" at Morgan Lehman Gallery, the inaugural show in their expanded Chelsea space, curated by Geoffrey Young. On June 25, the Canopy Program exhibition "Volcano Garden" opens at Canopy Studio, showcasing Butler's mentees. Two Coats of Paint hosts resident artist Mirabel Wigon in June, with an open studio on June 3. Butler is jurying a national show at Axis Gallery in Sacramento (deadline May 31) and recently selected 45 works from over 450 submissions for a group show at Prince Street Gallery (July 7–25). Her painting "Green Wall 3" is in the American Abstract Artists' 90th anniversary exhibition at Art Cake through May 30, with a panel discussion on the last day. Butler published an essay on zombie formalism at Two Coats of Paint, based on a May 9 panel at Art Cake. Her paintings appear in the Spring/Summer 2026 Evergreen Review. She plans to visit the Golden Art Foundation in New Berlin, NY, later in the summer.
