Sharjah Art Foundation Opens Call for Corniche 8 Comics Anthology

Sharjah Art Foundation has launched an open call for Corniche 8, its annual comics anthology, inviting illustrators and comic artists from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to submit proposals for original six-page comics. Selected artists will participate in a three-day creative exchange in Sharjah and have their works published in the printed anthology, set to launch at Focal Point, the foundation's annual art book fair. The deadline for applications is 30 June 2026, 11:59 pm UAE time. Corniche began as a collaborative comic-making workshop in 2019 and has grown into a platform supporting diverse genres including autobiography, science fiction, fantasy, mythology, history, and contemporary narratives. Sharjah Art Foundation, a leading contemporary arts organization in the region, oversees the initiative, which aims to foster professional development and visibility for comic artists and illustrators across the GCC.
