In 2023, an individual took a sabbatical from their role at communications agency Flod, prompted by creative burnout and a 2019 diagnosis of ulcerative colitis. During this period, they engaged in sewing through courses at Sartoria in Circolo in Florence, led by tailor Gloria, and participated in the EU-funded shemakes project focused on women in sustainable textiles. The practice offered a non-digital creative outlet, fostering skills in patience and problem-solving while connecting with sustainability through clothing swaps and upcycling.
