Gruenrekorder has unveiled a two-CD collection titled 'Listen! MadeRadioArt Anthology', showcasing the talents of sound artists Sergio Armaroli (born 1972) and Steve Piccolo (born 1954). Armaroli presents twenty-one pieces of free-form and experimental music, while Piccolo contributes thirty tracks that delve into the Italian avant-garde. Their collaboration from 2016 merges collage, spoken word, sampling, and electroacoustic techniques into radio dramas that defy traditional listening experiences. The anthology highlights fragmented soundscapes, incorporating text, multilingual voices, environmental sounds, and electronic elements. Piccolo critiques modern media consumption, emphasizing the shift from creator agency to the significance of the listener.
