September 2026 Typeface Roundup: Exemplar Completes After 32 Years, Autêntica Serif and 13 More Releases
After 32 years of development, Göran Söderström's Exemplar, a humanist serif initiated in 1994 on a Power Macintosh 7100, is now finished. The typeface boasts five weights, italics, 791 glyphs, and accommodates Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, and Arabic scripts across 370 languages. To commemorate this achievement, Letters from Sweden engraved the typeface's journey into marble street signs in Pietrasanta, Italy, along with producing a short film. Other typefaces set for release in September 2026 include Sofia Mohr's Autêntica Serif, Malou Verlomme's Castillon, Foundry Kingdom by David Quay and Stuart De Rozario, Peignot Jumbo from Production Type, Teo Tuominen's Vieno, and many more.
