Seashore Trolley Museum Offers Spring and Summer Internships for Maine Youth

The Seashore Trolley Museum has announced two internship opportunities for Maine residents aged 16 to 24, available during the spring and summer seasons. These positions are unpaid, but funding may cover up to 75 hours of work. The first role is a Digital Content Development Internship, which can be conducted either in-person or remotely. This position involves enhancing a digital guide created in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies on the Bloomberg Connects platform. The guide currently includes an interactive map, an audio tour, and details on many artifacts; the intern will research and write additional descriptions to fill gaps, working independently with bi-weekly Zoom check-ins led by the Museum Educator. The second opportunity is an in-person Museum Archives Internship, focusing on digitizing and cataloging blueprints and other materials from the museum's Library and Archives. This role requires semi-independent work with scanning and documentation to support the restoration team, using collections management software. Both internships provide hands-on experience with museum professionals, including coordination with the Executive Director and other staff.
