Science Museum Space Gallery Highlights UK Innovation Amid New Government Report

The Science Museum in London has opened a new Space gallery that showcases UK space sector innovations, including prototypes from companies like Space Forge, Magdrive, and Astroscale. This coincides with a recent House of Lords report titled 'The Space Economy: Act Now or Lose Out,' which warns that the UK risks missing economic opportunities in space due to lack of coordination. The report, produced by the UK Engagement with Space Committee chaired by Baroness Catherine Ashton, notes the sector contributes over £18 billion to the economy and supports nearly 50,000 jobs. The museum's gallery aims to increase public understanding of space's everyday relevance, featuring historical items like the Black Arrow nose cone and Prospero satellite. The government has two months to respond to the report, which will then be debated in the House of Lords.
