Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt Examines AI's Impact on Art and Culture

The Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt will present a major summer exhibition from June 11 to September 20, 2026, exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping art, politics, and visual culture. Featuring around forty works from the past decade to the present, the show includes video installations, graphic works, sculptures, photographs, and several new commissions. Approximately thirty international artists are participating, including Nora Al-Badri, Nouf Aljowaysir, Julian Charrière, Grégory Chatonsky, Kate Crawford and Vladan Joler, Holly Herndon, and Mat Dryhurst. The exhibition is organized thematically across both of the Schirn's spaces, addressing cognitive, psychological, political, and ecological dimensions of AI. It highlights how AI technologies fundamentally alter image creation, processing, dissemination, description, and viewing, with opaque technical processes governing their influence on visual culture and contemporary art.
