Saverio Tutino's 'San Magno fa prest' Revisited in Castelmagno

A 1981 book by Saverio Tutino, 'San Magno fa prest', published by Priuli & Verlucca of Ivrea, is highlighted in the 'Un libro un luogo' series, focusing on Castelmagno. The book features color photographs by Paola Agosti documenting the annual feast of San Magno, protector of herds in Cuneo, held every August 19 at the 18th-century Santuario di San Magno, located at 1,760 meters above sea level in the Val Grana. The text describes the valley as a 'flower of rock' with roots in Pradleves, opening near Chiotti above Campomolino with the three peaks of Pergo. Tutino, who lived from 1923 to 2011, wrote the introduction. The sanctuary sits where the valley widens toward Colle Fauniera and Passo della Gardetta.
