Sardinian Ceramic Art Exhibition in Venice Showcases Century of Innovation

An exhibition titled 'Forme d’argilla. Un secolo di ceramica sarda' is being presented at Palazzetto Tito in Venice from March 28 to April 25, 2026. Organized by the Istituto Superiore Etnografico and Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, the show features approximately eighty works primarily from the Museo della Ceramica di Nuoro. Curated by Efisio Carbone, it traces the evolution of Sardinian ceramic production throughout the twentieth century, highlighting how traditional craftsmanship engaged with contemporary artistic movements. The display includes pieces by notable figures such as Francesco Ciusa, Maria Lai, and Pinuccio Sciola, alongside contemporary artists like Rossana Rossi and Michele Ciacciofera. The exhibition aims to demonstrate the intellectual and formal development of Sardinian ceramics beyond mere utility, positioning them within broader artistic dialogues.
