Sarah Sherman Samuel Returns to Michigan, Opens Gallery and Publishes Monograph

Designer Sarah Sherman Samuel has relocated from Los Angeles to her native Michigan, settling near Grand Rapids to run her six-person practice SSS Design. She is opening a gallery alongside her new studio in Grand Rapids, aiming to feature local and international artists. A new monograph, "Sarah Sherman Samuel: The Intersection of Art and Design" (Abrams), traces her career through residential projects, furniture collections, and art pieces. The book covers formative works like her Spanish Colonial residence in Los Angeles and her woodland home near Grand Rapids, highlighting how her ideas cross architecture, interiors, and objects. Samuel's father built the Curiosity Cabinet for a group show at Colony in 2024, a piece that holds personal meaning. Her clients include actress Mandy Moore and photographer Garance Doré. Collaborations include Lulu & Georgia, Semihandmade, and Concrete Collaborative.
