Sarah Salazar's Corps Raccords: Six Years of Bodies in Embrace

publication · 2026-10-20

French photographer and filmmaker Sarah Salazar has released Corps Raccords, her first photographic book, drawing on six years of work. Trained at the École de Condé in Paris, Salazar has built a personal practice centred on the body, movement and the ways people relate to one another. The volume traces the relationship between two people through embraces, intertwined limbs and spontaneous gestures, capturing moments in which bodies appear to find their own way of being together. Viewing the images, closeness reads as something concrete — built from trust and small movements rather than grand declarations. The poet Kiyémis contributes texts that accompany the photographs, giving voice to what is often communicated between two people without speech. Salazar described the collaboration as a dialogue: her texts, she said, answered my photographs the way one voice answers another, turning the book into an exchange, a conversation made of bodies, words, tenderness and light. Images from the project are published by Objects. magazine, with photography credited to Sarah Salazar and visuals sourced from corpsraccords.com.
