Sarah Higgins named director of USF Contemporary Art Museum

In Tampa, Florida, Sarah Higgins has been named the director and chief curator of the USF Contemporary Art Museum. Her responsibilities will include guiding the curatorial vision, managing the permanent collection, and ensuring that programming aligns with the university’s academic and research objectives. She will report to Chris Garvin, the dean of the College of Design, Art & Performance, who commended her editorial work with Art Papers, referring to her as a "unique and powerful voice in contemporary art" influential in the development of emerging artists. Higgins considers her return to Florida a "homecoming," as her curatorial journey began there over 15 years ago. The museum is located within the University of South Florida Arts District.
