Sarabande Foundation Opens North London Art Hub in Tottenham

The Sarabande Foundation, founded by the late fashion designer Lee Alexander McQueen to nurture new talent, has inaugurated a new art center in Tottenham, north London. Situated at 808-812 High Road, the facility comprises two connected early 18th-century townhouses that retain original features, including historic wallpaper. It houses 14 studios for artists, an educational area, and a café adorned with York stone floor carvings by alumni artists Jo Grogan and Castro Smith. This year's resident artists are Rizza Zahid, Tom Hallimond, Victoria Ruiz, and Jack Laver. The initiative was funded with £2.6 million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, matched by Tottenham Hotspur football club. Tracey Emin lauded the project on Instagram, highlighting its role in enriching Tottenham's cultural scene.
