Sara Sejin Chang's 'Hollands Kabinet' retrospective opens at Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd

Centraal Museum Utrecht has organized the first comprehensive retrospective of Sara Sejin Chang (also known as Sara van der Heide), now on view at Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd in Bunnik, The Netherlands. Titled TRANSMUTATION, the exhibition spans fifteen years of the artist's practice, featuring immersive film installations, 558 watercolours, and textile works. This presentation represents a partnership between Centraal Museum Utrecht and Hartwig Art Foundation. Chang's work critically examines colonial and Eurocentric frameworks that continue to influence global power dynamics, including the transracial adoption industry. Through poetic installations, she seeks to dismantle these persistent structures.
