Sandra Cook Featured as Artist of the Week at Palmer Museum

Sandra Cook, an artist based in Palmer, Alaska, was highlighted as Artist of the Week by the Palmer Museum on July 2, 2021. Her artistic practice is characterized by vibrant colors across multiple mediums, including ceramics, fiber arts, painted papers, handmade books, and watercolor paintings. Cook transitioned to watercolor from ceramics, where she used Majolica glazes with hand-painted floral designs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she initiated a daily painting practice, posting over 365 works to social media starting May 1, 2020. Previously, she taught art classes at venues like the Art Café and her studio, and conducted Raku firing events. Her work reflects a playful and expressive use of color.
