Sam Linguist's Handmade Ceramics Debut in Cremona

Laurel Gitlen presents a solo exhibition of Sam Linguist, titled WRR, hosted by Triangolo in Cremona, Italy. Linguist, raised in Waxahachie, Texas, worked as a teenager at Webb Gallery, which specializes in visionary, self-taught artists. There he encountered Sanford Darling, Royal Robertson, and Burgess Dulaney, whose works in clay, paint, marker, and glitter influenced his practice. Linguist creates handmade ceramic objects on wobbly slip-cast surfaces, using found items like domino tiles, turtle shells, Styrofoam, and hardcover books. His work blends personal mythology with devotion to handmade objects and everyday traces.
