Ryan Beatty Releases Music Video for 'Secret Language' Ahead of New Album

Ryan Beatty has released the music video for 'Secret Language,' the first single from his fourth album 'Sweet Fortune,' arriving June 26. The video, directed by Rhys Scarabosio, follows Beatty running across multiple U.S. locations including Hollywood Boulevard, Las Vegas, New Mexico desert, Texas plains, Nashville, Louisiana, downtown Manhattan, and Boston's Charles River Esplanade. Beatty describes the video as his favorite music video experience, shot with a small crew. The song captures the feeling of falling in love, with lyrics about expressing love in a secret language. Beatty co-wrote the track with Ethan Gruska and finished it in his boyfriend's Boston apartment. The album marks a shift toward a more maximalist sound compared to his previous work 'Calico,' reflecting a happier personal state. Beatty won a Grammy for Album of the Year for his contributions to Beyoncé's 'Cowboy Carter,' on which he co-wrote four songs. He previously released albums 'Boy in Jeans' (2018), 'Dreaming of David' (2020), and 'Calico' (2023), and collaborated with Brockhampton and Tyler, the Creator.
