Royal Scottish Academy Marks 200th Anniversary with Major Exhibition and Birthday Celebration
On Saturday, 9th May 2026, the Royal Scottish Academy will unveil its 200th RSA Annual Exhibition, which will be on display until Sunday, 14th June 2026, at the RSA Galleries in Edinburgh. To celebrate the Academy's 200th anniversary, a Big Birthday Party is scheduled for Wednesday, 27th May from 11am to 3pm. The exhibition, curated by Annie Cattrell RSA and Fergus Purdie RSA, revolves around the theme 'In-Time,' exploring geology and the Academy's legacy. Attendees can view hundreds of artworks and architectural designs, many available for purchase through the Own Art scheme. Additionally, three new awards totaling over £15,000 will be introduced in 2026. The exhibition will also be accessible online, with support from LGT Wealth Management and Culture & Business Scotland.
