Roberto Cuoghi's Previously Unseen Photographic Series a.C. Debuts at Castello di Rivoli
The Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea in Rivoli-Torino is presenting Roberto Cuoghi's photographic series a.C. for the first time in 2024. The series documents early sculptural experiments and decay processes from the artist's Imitatio Christi project, originally developed for the 2017 Venice Biennale's Italian Pavilion. Cuoghi manually intervened on each photograph using graphite, colored pencils, and flocking techniques. The works entered the museum's collection through the artist's donation and are supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture's contemporary photography initiative. The series captures ephemeral prototypes created with unstable organic compounds in Cuoghi's Milan studio.
