Robert Wun's Childsplay Couture: Balloons and Childhood Nostalgia

London-based designer Robert Wun presented his Autumn Winter 2026 haute couture collection, titled Childsplay, during Paris Couture Week. The show featured 25 looks inspired by stages of childhood, including a white ballroom dress with Jackson Pollock-like paint splatters, vibrant space helmets, fascinators shaped like a ballerina music box and a glittering high heel, and an all-blue Cinderella homage with an angular heart-shaped bodice and floating ribbons. The finale showcased two balloon-clad looks: a white trouser co-ord with opaque and translucent balloons, and a black dress with a crinoline cape of colorful balloons, evoking a balloon seller. Wun described the balloons as 'beautiful and joyous, yet fragile and not meant to last,' reflecting the ephemeral nature of childhood. The collection continues the trend of inflatable clothing and furniture seen at recent fashion and design weeks. Paris Couture Week concluded last Friday, with Iris van Herpen also presenting a plasma-filled gown.
