Rimadesio and Giuseppe Bavuso unveil 'Ori' zig-zag chair at Salone del Mobile 2026

Giuseppe Bavuso, the sole designer for furniture maker Rimadesio, has created the 'Ori' chair featuring a distinctive zig-zagging backrest in solid ash. The chair represents Rimadesio's expansion from doors and panels into complementary furniture pieces. Bavuso's design philosophy emphasizes quiet, content-rich creations focused on living spaces rather than display. Two color options are available: black oak and thermotreated oak stains. Seat materials include natural or black woven cord, or fabric and leather in any color from Rimadesio's collection. Crafted at Rimadesio's solar-powered production facility in Giussano, the chair showcases the brand's high-precision manufacturing capabilities. Bavuso and Rimadesio have collaborated since 1986, producing acclaimed designs including the 'Sliparium' sliding doors. The designer's background in automotive industry architecture informs his technical approach to product creation. Bavuso received first prize at the A' Young & Design Award in 1994 for the aluminum and glass 'Sliparium' doors. The 'Ori' chair will be presented at Salone del Mobile 2026.
