Fashion label Richert Beil, founded by Jale Richert and Michele Biel, has opened its first permanent store in Berlin's Kreuzberg district. To celebrate, the duo is auctioning ten handmade items from their spring 2027 collection, with bids starting as low as 50 euros. The auction, which runs for one week, invites customers—not just industry insiders—to name their own price. Items include slate gray ceramic underwear, a white shirt cut from 19th-century French bed linen, latex aprons, and a kilt in plaid linen with a leather logo patch. The store also functions as a workspace, with some garments produced in-house. The spring 2027 collection consolidates Richert Beil's signature archetypes: maitresse dresses, trousers with lingerie details, utilitarian windcheaters, and leather tote bags with long straps. Prices are notably accessible, with a black wool pinstripe shirt retailing for 390 euros. Biel expressed a desire for honesty and direct connection with customers, emphasizing the label's sly humor and critique of fashion industry pretension.
