Rhizome Celebrates 30 Years with ArtBase Relaunch and Website Exhibition
Rhizome, a leader in born-digital art, is marking its 30th anniversary with a fall program that includes a relaunch of its ArtBase archive and an exhibition focusing on the website as an artistic platform. Established in 1996 by Mark Tribe, the celebration begins with 'WEBSITES WEBSITES WEBSITES!' in New York from 21 to 27 September, curated by Vienna Kim and Benoit Palop, featuring works from various artists. A benefit event on 23 September at Capitale will pay tribute to Skawennati and Erick Calderon. The ArtBase relaunch, funded by the Mellon Foundation, improves metadata and discovery tools. Additionally, the season will feature events at the New Museum and the launch of the City Fellows initiative, with Upendra Vaddadi as the first Bangalore Fellow.
