Renesa's The Sanctum in Punjab centers on circular water courtyard

The Sanctum, a residence spanning 1,115 square metres, has been finalized by the Indian architecture firm Renesa in Amritsar, Punjab. Situated on a three-acre plot, the house showcases geometric forms constructed from red brick and concrete, all centered around a circular courtyard filled with water. Principal architect Sanchit Arora refers to this courtyard as the home's 'spatial and emotional nucleus,' emphasizing a design philosophy of 'restraint' over 'performative grandeur.' The design incorporates private family areas encircling the courtyard and communal spaces along the edges. Notable elements include concentric planting, polished concrete seating, and a sunken lounge. The bedrooms are housed in a distinct two-storey structure.
