Rene Matić Discusses Polyamory, This Is England, and Turner Prize Nomination on ArtReview Podcast

Rene Matić, the youngest contender for the Turner Prize 2025, features in the fifth episode of the ArtReview Podcast. During a discussion with editor Fi Churchman, the London artist delves into topics such as polyamory, Shane Meadows's 2006 film This Is England, and their artistic endeavors. For the V&A East Museum's grand opening on 18 April 2026, Matić will showcase new photographic works displayed in lightboxes resembling a sound system, as part of eight contributions from various artists, including Tania Bruguera, Es Devlin, and Lawrence Lek. Their 2022 film Many Rivers, made for a solo exhibition at South London Gallery, merges family footage with scenes from Peterborough. Matić's work, which addresses identity, intimacy, race, gender, and belonging, has been exhibited at South London Gallery and Bradford Culture Contemporary.
