institutional · 2026-10-14

The M+ museum in Hong Kong has engaged Turkish American artist Refik Anadol to produce Winds of Hong Kong (2026), an AI-based installation that interprets local meteorological data. This exhibition will be available for viewing from October 14, 2023, until January 7, 2027. Anadol's goal is to highlight the vibrant ecology of Hong Kong. In a separate development, Tai Kwun has elevated Philip Tinari to the position of director of Tai Kwun Arts, taking over from Timothy Calnin, who will shift his focus to special projects. This change aligns with Chin Chin Teoh's broadened responsibilities as managing director. Additionally, Riar Rizaldi and Hera Chan are set to open Otonomia Bioskop, an independent cinema in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in early 2029, showcasing experimental films and community-oriented programming.
